Undefined and Meaningless

©darrengarcia
A number divided by 0 is undefined and meaningless, but so is beauty. It's only through media that we have established our perception set. Society constructs these norms of deliberately discriminating people based on arbitrary anatomical features.

It's just absurd how we adore and devalue others merely because of what we see. We are all of the same bodily characteristics, slight differences make us distinct. Why do we prefer something over the other? It's because society tells us so.

Now if you live in Burma, Kayan people would label you beautiful based on the number of brass coils painfully stretching your neck. Come to think of it, people strive to be called "beautiful" to be elevated from society, to be distinct, and to have the superiority.

Who are we to say "ugly"? I am truly offended and disheartened how people reacted to Janine Tugonon's break-up. It displayed the arrogance of most people. It reflected how society  shamefully thinks. They take pride in perviously destroying a person through constant mocking.

Why can we not live to actualize ourselves? We do not need to be socially accepted to realize our worth. I understand that it is really difficult to stand against the pressure that society imposes upon everyone, to constantly keep up with the trend just to belong. We fear what others might say but not fear what could be compromised. We change for others but not for the better.

Outbreak 2013: Summer Camp

Soaked in mud, rolled on sand, and headed down a giant slide, all for fun and fellowship. This is definitely another memorable experience. Looking forward for a greater camp next year.

Question Hanging from Religion

LB Large Class

So this is how a large class looks like. Usually, it gets half-filled during regular lectures and suddenly gets jam-packed during exams.

Ketchuping

Myth or Fact: The number on the upper left side of the label indicates the sourness of the ketchup.

Answer: Fact, degree of sourness is directly related to the number.
Proof: Results are based on sheer empirical observations through papillae dabbing; a study conducted with my highly-professed v-group.

Hiding Under

Expose, unveil, reveal! Flamboyant family names do no good. Running for an electoral post requires passion and not pressure. It is a commitment and not a business. Traces of honesty prevail over a brand of grandiosity. The fight should be about competency and not popularity. Voters, be vigilant— seek who is meek and true; despise the royalties whose main purpose is to establish dynasties.

I Don't Like It Anymore

Mida's Law: Possession diminishes value of perception, immediately

Now I understand why not having something is still something to be thankful for. Our life's mechanism is to achieve our goals, may it be short or long termed. However, it is true that we lose that feeling of determination once we get it. Eventually, we shift our efforts to other priorities once we attain something.

This is good in one aspect; we don't become stagnant and we keep on thriving for more. On the other hand, we take for granted the things we already have. Our past journey, little by little, becomes hazy and blurred. We dismiss the thought of its real value.

Recently, I felt the lack of motivation in a sport I used to play in high school. I tried to excel in volleyball just to keep up with my friends' skills. They were really good, and there was just no place for a newbie performance. Now, I realized that I don't have the incentive to further my skills since it won't have any use to me now that I'm in college.

Good or bad? I can't tell. But one thing is for sure inclinations fade. One way or another, there will come a time when we would say "I don't like it anymore". It's embedded in all of us. We are meant to break attachments that bind is with the world. Treasures, skills, and abilities they are encompassed by entropy— they will soon degrade.
